FA Cup tips - Everton v Chelsea odds and preview

Three consecutive wins, 13 goals scored and a trio of clean sheets are enough to suggest that Chelsea are back on track this season

However, their winter of discontent has left them seven points off the pace in the Premier League meaning that the FA Cup and Champions League offer the most realistic opportunities for silverware this season.

Alex and Yossi Benayoun are Carlo Ancelotti's only serious injury concerns ahead of the trip to Everton with Frank Lampard expected to return after missing the 4-0 win over Bolton on Monday.

Australia's run to the final of the Asian Cup means that Tim Cahill is still unavailable for The Toffees but other than that David Moyes' squad have a clean bill of health.

Everton have lost just one of their last nine games in all competitions but still occupy an unflattering position in the Premier League table. Too many draws - five in that nine game period - has been the issue and there is every chance that that problem could persist here.

Four of the last six meetings between Chelsea and Everton have ended level, including a 1-1 draw at Stamford Bridge earlier this season. You can back the draw here at 3.6 on Betfair.

However, Chelsea are looking like they are close to returning to their rampant ways of earlier this season; solid at the back, ruthless on the counter-attack and physically strong all over the pitch. They have the weight of momentum behind them now and at 2.1 Chelsea look a solid bet for a fourth consecutive victory.

One of the biggest fears for Everton when top goalscorer Tim Cahill went to the Asian Cup was where their goals would come from. They needn't have worried. The Toffees have scored 11 goals in four games without the Aussie.

But they'll face their stiffest test this Saturday against a settled Chelsea back four that have now played together in three of the previous four games - Ashley Cole sitting out the 7-0 win over Ipswich.

If you're thinking of backing Over 2.5 goals at 2.0 then you'll be looking for Chelsea to score the majority, if not all, of them. Given the return to goalscoring form of Nicolas Anelka and Didier Drogba that may not be too much to ask.

With Drogba and Anelka seemingly back on song it would be foolish to ignore either of them in the goalscorer markets.

Anelka now has three in his last three games while Drogba got the opener against Bolton. The Ivorian is 2.3 to net at anytime in the game with his strike partner available at bigger odds of 3.0.

Provided that they both start - Ancelotti hasn't suggested anything to the contrary - the bigger odds on the Frenchman certainly offer the better value.
