FA Cup Final Betting Tips - Chelsea v Liverpool Latest tips

Chelsea have had a tumultuous season but they have been playing well of late and can beat Liverpool in Saturday's FA Cup final.

We have secured 2/1 on Chelsea winning at Boylesport - exclusive to Bettingpro readers!

Two months ago Chelsea supporters would have given anything to be in the FA Cup final but at the moment it is probably the third of their priorities, after the UEFA Champions League final and finishing in the top four. Nonetheless, everyone at Stamford Bridge, not least caretaker manager Roberto Di Matteo, will be desperate to ensure some silverware by beating Liverpool at Wembley on Saturday.

The Blues have to be considered favourites to lift the FA Cup and it is understandable that Blue Square make them 7/10 to be holding the trophy after either 90-minutes, extra time or penalties with a win in regular time a 6/4 shot with Boylesports. Both of those prices will have plenty of backers as a team that beats Barcelona is one that should really be able to win against a side that has never got out of mid-table in the Premier League this season.

However, Liverpool have already beaten Chelsea twice this season (in the Premier League and the Carling Cup) and so will be fairly confident of claiming another win against the Blues. It is 21/10 at William Hill that the Reds win in 90-minutes on Saturday and their legions of travelling supporters will be jumping all over that price, particularly with Liverpool having already tasted Wembley glory once this season.

Unfortunately, since Kenny Dalglish's side won the Carling Cup final on penalties they have been on a downward spiral. Three league wins from ten matches is a terrible return for a club of Liverpool's stature and, although Luis Suarez scored a hat-trick last time out, they simply look bereft of ideas in attack. It is 7/1 at Sporting Bet that the Uruguayan opens the scoring at Wembley but if he doesn't then who will?

That is not a problem facing Chelsea as the Blues have had to deal with a misfiring striker all season. Fernando Torres's struggles have been well documented and it has frequently been left to others to score match winning goals meaning that Ramires (16/1, bet365), Juan Mata (10/1, Betfred) and Frank Lampard (9/1, Blue Square) are becoming adept at chipping in from midfield. Torres has, however, recaptured his form in recent weeks and a treble against QPR should strike fear in the hearts of his former employers as they know just how dangerous the Spaniard can be when confident. He is 7/1 at bet365 to open the scoring on Saturday and those odds could prove huge at the final whistle.

Ultimately, Chelsea's superior attack should see them through against Liverpool and although the Reds may battle valiantly, a side that loses 1-0 at home to West Brom is not a side that should be winning the FA Cup. John Terry may be suspended for the Champions League final but the England defender can at least console himself with the fact that he can lift the FA Cup this weekend.
