When the draw was made for Euro 2008 qualifying, nobody gave Scotland a chance after being placed in the same group as France, Italy and Scotland. However, under Walter Smith and Alex McLeish respectively, they’ve performed impressively in Group B and are now a best-price 7/2 (Coral) to qualify for Euro 2008 ahead of Wednesday’s trip to Paris.

Even if, as widely expected, they lose the match (France 2/7 Blue Square), Scotland will still have further chances to qualify, although a draw in Paris (4/1 Sporting Bet) would be treated as a victory by McLeish’s men. If the Scots somehow manage to win the match (11/1 bet365), it will go down as one of the biggest shocks in European footballing history.

With Thierry Henry missing, France will look to Nicolas Anelka and David Trezeguet to score the goals for the home team. Both strikers are 9/2 to open the scoring with bet365 and Paddy Power respectively. Rangers’ Kris Boyd is 14/1 (bet direct) for a repeat of Saturday when he bagged first against Lithuania.
