England v Netherlands betting - Draw being backed by wary punters

Robin Van Persie will be in action for Netherlands against England on Wednesday
Related Articles
England and Netherlands look fairly evenly matched at Wembley on Wednesday and that is borne out by the fact that they have finished level in their last four meetings.

The bookies can't split England and Holland apart with both sides chalked up at 7/4, however it would appear the usual patriotic punters of the nation don't fancy England's chances under new boss Stuart Pearce with the draw being heavily backed at 2/1.

The last four friendlies between the two countries have resulted in a stalemate and 1-1 (5/1) is the favoured outcome on Wednesday. A goalless night at Wembley is quoted at 8/1 and the 2-2 draw is chalked up at 14/1.

Harry Redknapp remains the odds-on (1/5) favourite to become the next England manager despite his Spurs side getting a 5-2 drubbing at the Emirates on Sunday. Ladbrokes also report seeing money for Pep Guardiola over the weekend.

The firm are offering to refund losing first goalscorer bets if any 'Van the Man' scores at any time during the match.

Jessica Bridge of Ladbrokes told Bettingpro:

"Punters religiously back the Three Lions but the odds suggest the new boss hasn't won them over yet. The script is written for a bore draw on Wednesday night."
