England beat Spain 1-0 at Wembley while Wales were 4-1 winners over Norway in the Millennium Stadium to cap a good weekend for the home nations.

England inflicted a rare defeat on Spain in tonight's friendly at Wembley, beating the world and European champions courtesy of a Frank Lampard goal.

Though the visitors dominated possession and had the majority of chances it was Fabio Capello's men who scored the only goal of the game.

Chelsea's Lampard, captaining the team in team-mate John Terry's absence, nodded home from close range shortly after the break to shock the Spaniards. Lampard was matched at 16.0 to score first.

England had drifted to 7.4 to win the game in-running on Betfair - a market where Spain were backed at a low of 1.82. A home win to nil (not an In-Play market) traded at a high of 10.0.

Spain remain the Euro 2012 favourites at 3.6 with England 11.5 behind Germany 4.6 and Holland 7.8.

Next up for England is Sweden on November 15 - Capello's men are 1.76 to score a second morale-boosting win.

Earlier in the afternoon Wales continued their excellent recent form by thrashing Norway 4-1 at the Cardiff City Stadium.

Gareth Bale - backed at 11.0 in the First Goalscorer market - put the home side ahead after just 10 minutes, brilliantly finishing off a neat one-two with Steve Morrison by blasting the ball home at the near post. Craig Bellamy then curled home a shot from the edge of the box five minutes later to put Gary Speed's men in control. Norway threatened a comeback when they scored midway through the second half but two late Sam Vokes goals wrapped up the victory.

Wales were backed at a high of just 2.5 to win the game pre-match, but In-Play punters who back the Any Unquoted Correct Score (any side to score at least four) at 90.0 will surely be queuing up to buy Vokes a pint or two this evening.
