Craig Gordon failed to train with Scotland on Monday and it is unsure whether he will recover in time for Wednesday's World Cup qualifier against the Netherlands.

Scotland's goalkeeper is believed to have suffered a thigh strain and joins Scotland injury list of Scott Brown and Steven Fletcher, with James McFadden suspended.

If Scotland draw against the Netherlands it will be enough to secure second spot in Group 9 but would probably not be enough to seal a play-off spot for next year's finals.

George Burley's men must therefore go all out for victory against a Dutch side who hold a 100% record in qualifying.

The Netherlands will be without injured PSV Eindhoven playmaker Ibrahim Afellay but Inter Milan star Wesley Sneijder could return.
