Fulham can perhaps consider themselves unlucky not to have taken something from Sunday’s game at the Emirates. However, the 13/10 shots (Expekt)  can bounce back on Wednesday night at home to a Bolton (21/10 Paddy Power) team still reeling from their 3-1 home reverse to Newcastle. This fixture ended 1-1 last season and a repeat of the draw occurring this week is 9/4 (Totesport).

Meanwhile, two of the Premiership new boys lock horns on Tuesday night, with Birmingham (11/8 Stan James) hosting Sunderland (15/8 bet365). Both teams impressed in their opening match and, with the Black Cats defence looking mean, the 9/4 (Sporting Odds) about this match ending all-square could be the way to go.

Derby, the other promoted team, travel to the City of Manchester Stadium on Wednesday and are 9/2 (Ladbrokes) to pull off something of a shock victory. After their weekend heroics at West Ham, City will be all the rage at 8/11 (Totesport) to land another three points.

Finally, Wigan and Middlesbrough both suffered opening day defeats and the draw (9/4 Sporting Odds) probably looks the value bet at the JJB stadium this week. Wigan (11/8 Ladbrokes) can’t be relied upon with a shaky defence, while Boro (15/8 bet365) are also set for a season of struggle following the loss of striker Mark Viduka.
