Chelsea coach Andre Villas-Boas is expected to keep almost the same starting XI for tonight’s must-win Champions League clash with Valencia.

The Blues eased some of the pressure on Villas-Boas with a league win over Newcastle United this past weekend, and the Portuguese is likely to stick by the majority of players that picked up three Premier League points at St James’ Park.

David Luiz’s poor form could see him replaced at centre-back by Branislav Ivanovic, with Jose Bosingwa coming into the starting XI at full-back.

And following his goal-scoring performance in the North East, Didier Drogba is expected to retain his place in the starting XI ahead of Fernando Torres.

Meanwhile, Valencia coach Unai Emery is expected to recall star striker Roberto Soldado after he was rested for the La Liga game this past weekend, and also expected to return to the starting XI are Jonas and Sofiane Feghouli.

However, Emery has concerns over midfielder Ever Banega, and it appears as though the Argentina international will be forced out of this game by strained knee ligaments.

Valencia are also waiting on the fitness of defender Victor Ruiz, and if he is ruled out by an adductor strain, Angel Dealbert will once again stand in at the heart of the Spanish side’s defence.

Definitely absent through injury are Sergio Canales (knee ligament) and Hedwiges Maduro (ankle ligaments).
