Chelsea v Valencia preview and odds

Chelsea will host Valencia on Tuesday night in a match that will determine who joins Bayer Leverkusen in the knockout stage of the Champions League.

After suffering their first defeat in this years Champions League, Chelsea now sit second in Group E behind Leverkusen.

Chelsea took the lead in Germany last time out but were pegged back when Eren Derdiyok equalised on 73 minutes, before Manuel Friedrich scored a 90th minute winner.

In comparison Valencia smashed Genk 7-0 to move level on points with Chelsea with one game remaining.

For both teams qualification will be determined by this fixture; if Chelsea win or draw they will go through, but if Valencia win at Stamford Bridge, the Spanish team will progress to the last sixteen of the Champions League.

Last time these two teams met, the game ended in a 1-1 draw after Soldado scored an 87th minute equaliser from the penalty spot.

In the five previous meetings between the two sides, Chelsea have won two and there have been three draws. Interestingly both games at Stamford Bridge have ended in draws.
