Chelsea are all but out of the Premier League title race after falling 12-points behind both Manchester clubs and need to keep winning to ensure they qualify for the Champions League.

United on the other hand are level on points with Manchester City at the top of the Premier League table.

A win for Chelsea will reduce the pressure from the chasing pack of Arsenal, Newcastle and Liverpool, while a win for United will put huge pressure on Man City.

Last time out Chelsea were fortunate to earn a point at Swansea. The Blues trailed 1-0, until a deflected goal in the 93rd minute gave them a much-needed point.

United in comparison dismantled Stoke at Old Trafford and deserved the three-points thanks to a 2-0 win.

Chelsea’s form is sketchy – and has been for most of the season – which has seen them pick-up just eight points from a possible 15, and without a win in two games.

United meanwhile, have responded after suffering back-to-back defeats with three straight wins including a 2-1 triumph at The Emirates against Arsenal.

United’s continuing injury crisis seems relentless as they are missing ten first team players. Wayne Rooney remains a doubt, while both goalkeepers Anders Lindegaard and David De Gea were unavailable against Stoke.

Chelsea’s Ashley Cole is suspended for the visit of Manchester united after receiving two yellow cards against Swansea. However, captain John Terry and Frank Lampard may return to the team following injury.

Earlier in the season Chelsea were unlucky not to beat United despite losing 3-1 at Old Trafford.

This fixture has been a spiky affair in the past, and interestingly, Manchester United have not beat Chelsea at the Bridge in the Premier League since 2002.
