Marseille produced a stunning last-gasp rally to beat Borussia Dortmund 3-2 and book their place in the knockout stage of the Champions League.

The French giants came into this Group F game knowing they would need a victory to guarantee their place in the last-16, but found themselves two goals down after just 32 minutes as Jakub Blaszczykowski fired Dortmund in front before Mats Hummels slotted home a penalty after Stephane mbia fouled Sebastian Kehl.

Loic Remy gave Marseille a glimmer of hope when he netted on the stroke of half-time, but it took until the 85th minute for them to finally kickstart their comeback. Andre Ayew powered home a header and two minutes later Mathieu Valbuena danced into the Dortmund area and rifled home the winner.

That result broke the hearts of Olympiakos, who thought they had got the job done by beating Arsenal. Already into the last-16, the Gunners rested several stars and Olympiakos took advantage as Rafik Djebbour, David Fuster and Francois Modesto all scored in a fine win, with Yossi Benayoun netting a consolation goal for the visitors. However, happiness turned to sorrow when the Greeks learned of Marseille’s stunning late show.

In Group E, Chelsea romped to a 3-0 victory over Valencia in the winner-takes-all showdown at Stamford Bridge. Didier Drogba was the star of the show as he scored two and set up another, for Ramires, as the Blues condemned the Spanish side to a place in the Europa League. In the other Group E match, Bayer Leverkusen were held to a surprise 1-1 draw by Genk, needing Eren Derdiyok to cancel out an opening goal from Jelle Vossen. That result meant Chelsea progressed as winners of the group.

The outcome of Group H was already known as Barcelona and AC Milan completed their group stage campaigns. Pedro struck twice and both Sergi Roberto and Martin Montoya were on target as a second-string Barcelona side cruised to a 4-0 win over BATE Borisov ahead of El Clasico this weekend.  Meanwhile, AC Milan looked to be cruising to a victory over Viktoria Plzen after Alexandre Pato and Robinho gave them a two-goal lead, but the minnows fought back and David Bystron and Michael Duris earned them a memorable draw.

And finally, APOEL Nicosia progressed as Group G winners despite losing 2-0 to Shakhtar Donetsk, who got goals from Luiz Adriano and Yevgen Seleznev. Zenit St Petersburg followed the Cypriot side into the last-16 with a goalless draw at FC Porto.
