Carling Cup Quarter Final Draw - will it be a balls up?

VC Bet have opened a market on whether a televised football draw in the UK will be bungled again after the draw for the Semi Finals of the CIS Cup ended up in a farce. The firm have odds of 25/1 that a draw for a round needs to be completely redrawn, and 14/1 that a ball is called and then put back in the pot. VC also bet at 16/1 that a ball is left in the bag or is missing completely.

And with the Carling Cup Quarter Final draw taking place on Saturday, and both the FA Cup and Scottish Cup draws due in the coming months, there will be ample opportunity for various football associations to make a hash of what should be a simple procedure.

Spokesman Neal Wilkins admits that after the latest debacle the football authorities will have to be on top of their game.

“The nerves will be jangling on whoever is presiding over the next one, because if it were to happen again it would be a major embarrassment. We also thought about betting on whether the Scottish FA would get the draw for the CIS Final right, but with only two balls in the pot they’ll probably just about manage it.”

A ball is put back in the pot……………………………....14/1

A ball is missing or left in the bag………………………..16/1

The whole draw needs to be abandoned and redrawn……25/1
