Brazil’s young stars will get the chance to stake their claim for a place in the Olympic Games squad when they face Denmark in an international friendly on Saturday.

Coach Mano Menezes has opted for youth ahead of this weekend’s game at the Imtech Arena in Hamburg, Germany, with the likes of Ronaldinho, Kaka, Robinho and Ramires all left out of the squad – although the latter has only just returned from the Champions League Final following Chelsea’s involvement.

Despite those players being absent, there are some big names in Menezes’ selection, with Santos starlet Neymar and giant FC Porto striker Hulk expected to start up front against the Danes. The pair are likely to be crucial to Brazil’s chances of winning the gold medal in London, and the Samba Stars are 9/4 to win the football competition at the Games.

This international friendly match is also an important one for Denmark, who will be stepping up their preparations for this summer’s Euro 2012 tournament. They have been drawn in a strong Group B alongside Holland, Germany and Portugal, meaning this is an ideal test for them ahead of the trip to Poland and Ukraine.

Denmark are outsiders in the race ‘To Qualify’ for the knockout stage of Euro 2012, with bet365 offering them at 9/2 to upstage their more appealing rivals. Morten Olsen’s men are 16/1 to pull off a major upset by winning Group B.
