Last April, Bolton finished their season with a flourish by beating Arsenal 2-1, with Owen Coyle’s side clinching victory in the final minute when Tamir Cohen found the net for the Trotters.

Since then, there has been little for Wanderers supporters to smile about, although a recent 3-1 win against Liverpool suggests that Bolton could yet avoid relegation this term and they will consider this to be a good time to be facing Arsenal.

Match odds

Bolton Wanderers are a 4/1 chance to win on Wednesday night, just as they have done in their past three games against Macclesfield, Liverpool and Swansea.

Coyle will be especially pleased that his team are starting to score goals, with David Ngog the favoured striker at the moment, although it was Darren Pratley and Chris Eagles who found the net against the Swans.

Arsenal are an 8/11 chance to claim victory at the Reebok Stadium and will be a popular punt after a wonderful recovery from 2-0 down to claim a 3-2 FA Cup win.

First goalscorer

Those who have backed Robin Van Persie to be Premier League Top Goalscorer are starting to get excited and the Dutchman is 11/4 favourite to score the opening goal in this game.

Van Persie bagged a brace against Villa on Sunday and did score at the Reebok last term, while Theo Walcott has also been finding the net in recent matches and the England man is a 7/1 chance.

Ngog is a 9/1 poke for the home side, while Eagles is on offer at 14/1 and it appears Bolton will be facing an Arsenal side that are about to wave goodbye to Andriy Arshavin.

Over / Under 2.5 Goals

The bookies are anticipating goals in this game, with Ladbrokes offering 8/13 that there are three or more scored on Wednesday night. It would appear to be the bet considering that neither team’s defence can keep clean sheets at the moment.
