Blackburn Rovers v Wigan Athletic tips - Rovers could be relegated

Blackburn Rovers will be relegated if they fail to beat Wigan Athletic on Monday evening and it would be a fitting end to a tumultuous season at Ewood Park.

It has been a miserable season for Blackburn Rovers supporters. They have listened to their club's owners claim that they will sign superstar players then watched while those of note at Ewood Park are sold off to the highest bidder.

Things have been just as bad on the pitch and the vitriol directed at Steve Kean for his handling of first team affairs has been pretty horrible, although how else are fans supposed to claim without a 'manager out' campaign? Nothing has worked, however, and the Scot remains in a job that he is not fit to do and Blackburn Rovers are heading to the Championship.

The club's relegation can be confirmed on Monday if they fail to beat Wigan and it would be fitting if they went down at Ewood Park, and the fans were allowed one final protest against the owners, the management and anyone else that has wronged them over the past twelve months. Some fans may even relish the idea of going down, if only for the changes it will bring.

It is 6/4 at bet365 that the home side manage to claim a stay of execution by beating the Latics but this is a Blackburn side with just one win in five games taking on a Wigan team that have won five matches in the same period.

That would suggest that not only will Roberto Martinez's side avoid defeat at Ewood Park but that they will also win the game. It is 13/5 at totesport that they claim a draw on Monday but it is worth taking the 19/10 at Bet Victor that Wigan leave with maximum points. This will not only confirm Blackburn's relegation but it will ensure that the Latics remain in the Premier League for another season.
