Arjen Robben has dashed English clubs’ hopes of signing him this summer by penning a two-year extension to his Bayern Munich contract.

The Dutch winger had been linked with a move to Manchester City, Manchester United or back to his former team Chelsea, but will now stay with the Champions League finalists.

It had been reported that the 28-year-old had been involved in a dressing room bust-up with team-mate Franck Ribery during the Champions League semi-final against Real Madrid, putting his Bayern future in doubt.

Robben is 5/1 with Paddy Power to score the opening goal of the Champions League final against Chelsea in Bayern’s home, the Allianz Arena, on May 19.

“I’ve always emphasised that I feel very settled in Munich and with Bayern,” said Robben. “This is the reason I am glad to extend my contract.

“Bayern is like a family to me. Two of my three children were born in Munich and my family and I feel at home here.

“This contract extension is also the right decision for me from a sporting perspective. We have a magnificent team and I am certain we will enjoy the maximum possible football success in the years to come.”

Bayern chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge said: “We are extremely pleased we have extended Arjen’s contract a year before its expiry by two further years until 2015.

“Arjen is a very important player for Bayern and also a guarantee of the club’s continuing success in the future.”

The German club are a best-priced 5/6 with Paddy Power to beat Chelsea in 90 minutes and lift the Champions League trophy.
