Many of us enjoy playing fantasy football and the Sun Dream Team competition is the biggest around, especially as the newspaper have made the game free to play for the 2011/12 season.

As always, you have to pick 11 players from a budget of £50 million and there is the usual dilemma of wanting to pick several top-class players only to find that you can’t afford them all in the same team!

Here are some players that we feel should be on your shortlist…

JOE HART 4.5
We know that Manchester City have a defensive manager and Roberto Mancini will not sacrifice his ‘safety first’ approach this season. Hart is likely to play virtually every match for City and the team should also make smooth progress in the Champions League. With De Gea an unknown at Manchester United and Chelsea’s approach likely to be more attacking, Hart is a banker.

VINCENT KOMPANY 5.5
Possibly the only City defender who is certain to start most matches, especially as he will be captain of the team if Carlos Tevez leaves. Kompany was outstanding last season and, while he won’t score many goals, we can be sure that he is one of the first names on the team sheet for a side that will keep many clean sheets.

ROBERT HUTH 3.5
It remains to be seen as to whether Stoke will go very far in the Europa League next season although we know that the Potters are now a permanent fixture in the Premier League and that they are likely to finish in a mid-table position. City will get plenty of clean sheets and Huth is good for half a dozen goals.

DAVID SILVA 5.5
The Spaniard has had a season to adjust to English football and should become a regular for Manchester City this term, with Silva having had plenty of experience playing in the Champions League for Valencia. He can score goals and create plenty, with the price tag being a fair one.

BOBBY ZAMORA 3.5
Zamora spent much of last season on the sidelines, although the England hopeful should return with a bang this time around especially now that Fulham have an attack-minded coach in Martin Jol. Zamora will also be playing for the Cottagers in the Europa League and should get close to 200 points for a pretty low price.

LUIS SUAREZ 5.5
We can’t be sure about the Manchester United front line on the basis that Rooney, Berbatov, Welbeck, Hernandez and Owen are all fighting for places. However, Suarez should get plenty of game time and the exciting Uruguayan should score plenty of goals – the only downside being that Liverpool aren’t in Europe.
