We're excited about Thursday's games at Euro 2012 which will see tournament favourites Spain looking for their first win of the tournament when they face Republic of Ireland. Vicente del Bosque's side were thwarted by Italy in their opening game and actually had to come from behind to earn a point against the Azzurri, although the bookies make them firm favourites to claim victory against the Irish.

Giovanni Trapattoni's side performed poorly when losing 3-1 to Croatia and never really recovered from conceding that opening goal in the first few minutes despite an equaliser from Sean St Ledger. They are massive underdogs to win this contest although will be encouraged by Spain not having it their own way on Sunday.

The second Group C match should be a close encounter, with Italy favourites to build on their 1-1 draw with Spain and claim a maximum haul against Croatia. Cesare Prandelli declared himself delighted with his team's performance against the Spanish, especially as they conceded three goals to Russia in a warm-up match.

However, the Croatians know that victory will effectively guarantee their place in the quarter finals of the competition and are also likely to go for the win as they won't want to rely on the final game against Spain when it comes to securing a point.
