Euro 2012 Winner Odds

The Euro 2012 Winner Odds are already available with every bookmaker, with the final taking place on Sunday 1 July and the bookmakers are expecting Spain to be facing Germany again

Spain won Euro 2008 and the 2010 World Cup – they are now bidding to win a third consecutive major tournament after decades of underachievement.

Success in football is a cyclical process and it’s hard to imagine the Spanish dominance lasting too much longer, although the bookmakers anticipate La Furia Roja lining up at the Olympic Stadium on Sunday 1 July despite some iffy results in 2010 and 2011.

After winning the 2010 World Cup, Spain were roundly trounced 4-1 by Argentina and a November trip to Portugal saw the world champions thrashed 4-0. Although qualifying for Euro 2012 has not been a problem, England and Italy have also beaten Vicente Del Bosque’s team in recent friendlies.

Looking at the Euro 2012 winner odds, many people think that Germany are more likelier to reach the Euro 2012 final given that the team that finishes top of Group B will have an eminently winnable quarter final against the runner-up in Group A. A clear path to the semi-final is therefore very much on the cards for Joachim Low’s team.

If Spain and Germany don’t reach the Euro 2012 final, who will be the teams lining up instead? The Netherlands and Portugal feature in Group B with the Germans, so at least one of these teams will be travelling home after the group stage, although England have been presented with a favourable draw on paper.

Tipping England to reach the final is always a dangerous proposition, although the young players emerging for the Three Lions could ensure that Fabio Capello’s team come close to reaching the final.

A lack of firepower could be the problem for England who rely on Wayne Rooney to spearhead the attack and the Manchester United forward is suspended for the opening two matches, meaning that Darren Bent will be stepping up to the plate despite a mediocre season for Aston Villa.

However, the presence of Joe Hart in goal is a big plus and a defensive line-up featuring Micah Richards, John Terry, Gary Cahill and Ashley Cole is as strong as any other team on paper.

As we get closer to the tournament, the bookmakers will offer European Championships 2012 Odds on the Euro 2012 final such as Name the Finalists and To Reach the Final. However, you can already bet on the winner of the Euro 2012 final and some bookmakers also have a Winning Group market where you can select which section the winner will emerge from.

There is also the chance to bet on the Stage of Elimination for each team, so you can bet on how far sides like Germany, Spain and the Republic of Ireland will get before elimination from Euro 2012.
