BetVictor scared that Spain Euro 2012 money back offer will cost millions

BetVictor hoping that Spain are derailed at Euro 2012, although who can stop them claiming a third title on the bounce?

BetVictor will be forced to refund every Euro 2012 outright bet if Spain make it three in a row

There have been plenty of new customers opening BetVictor accounts in June, although the fact that most of them have been betting on the Euro 2012 outright market is starting to give Charlie McCann a few sleepless nights.

The Director of Online Public Relations for BetVictor was behind the decision to run with a “Spain Again” money back promotion which means customers will get losing bets on Euro 2012 refunded (up to £50) if favourites Spain win the European Championship.

It’s a brave move and one that doesn’t seem so clever as the tournament fast approaches, with Vicente del Bosque’s team regarded as the one to beat by many people, although the offer continues to be available until Poland v Greece kicks off on Friday night.

When I asked Charlie how the liabilities on Spain were looking at BetVictor, he told me “Pretty desperate. The nearer I get to Friday night, the more I think we could be kicking ourselves for ignoring the obvious.

“We daren’t imagine if they win was the last quote; concession has been great but you wonder if it is actually too good an offer!”

The big question is which team can topple Spain, with Charlie worried about the French defending and drawing a line through the Netherlands even though they reached the World Cup final.

“The nearer we get to the start of the tournament the reasons behind the decision to refund on Spain become less clear!” he continued.

“Our original thinking is that they have no Plan B, no in-form strikers, will miss the likes of Villa and Puyol. We also thought fatigue might be an issue. It is now more a question of fingers crossed, eyes closed and hope for the best. The stats say no nation has won three major tournaments in a row but they remain the side to beat and we are in for an anxious time.”

Bettingpro readers can not only enjoy this Spain Again money back offer but also claim £100 in free bets when they open an account ahead of Euro 2012, something that is an exclusive deal which can’t be found anywhere else.
