Bacary Sagna has accused Norwich midfielder Bradley Johnson of deliberately treading on his leg after suffering an injury that has ruled him out of Euro 2012.

The Arsenal right-back suffered a broken leg in the same place for the second time this season during the 3-3 draw with Norwich at the Emirates Stadium.

The Frenchman sustained a similar injury against Tottenham last October and will now miss the European Championship, in which his country begin their campaign against England.

France are a best-priced 14/1 with Boylesports to win Euro 2012 in Poland and the Ukraine and 15/8 with BetVictor to beat England.

Sagna, who could be back for the start of next season, said of Johnson: “He trod on my leg. I think he did it on purpose.

“The play carried on and I got up. When I went to control the ball, I felt a crack just like the first time against Tottenham.

“He trod on me in the same place as the previous fracture. That’s what caused the pressure. It cut in two.

“I have come back before and I’ll come back even stronger a second time.”

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger agreed Johnson had trodden on Sagna’s leg but stopped short of claiming it had been deliberate.

Wenger said: “He was kicked on it, it has not happened alone. When he was kicked, he has broken the leg.

“The guy closed him down and walked on him. I don’t know if it was deliberate or not.”

However, Norwich manager Paul Lambert defended his player, insisting: “There’s nothing in that.”
