Marcus Collins began the week as the favourite in the X Factor odds to win the show, but a surprise gamble is building with Ladbrokes (get your free £50 bet on the show) that he will be the act eliminated from the final five in the quarter finals.

After Craig Colton’s elimination, Marcus is now Gary Barlow’s only act remaining, but based on the betting, he could follow fellow mentor Louis Walsh in being without an act in the semi finals.

Marcus’ performance of Jackie Wilson’s ‘Higher and Higher’ was perhaps the standout performance of the last live show and he has arguably been the most consistent act in the whole competition across the last few weeks.

However, his old-school reincarnations may not be gaining the support that is hoped for and he has been backed into 14/1 to be the next act eliminated.

The gamble has been so strong that Ladbrokes have taken more money on Marcus being eliminated next than the remaining other four acts combined.

In turn, this has also negatively impacted his chances of winning the X Factor, as Little Mix have taken over at the head of the betting.

The winners’ market has been majorly topsy-turvy in recent weeks, with Little Mix becoming the fourth different favourites to win the show, as support for Janet Devlin and Amelia Lily seems to have fallen down the wayside.

Little Mix are now 2/1 in the X Factor betting to win the show, with Marcus drifting out to 11/5.

Despite the money for Marcus to fail to reach the final four, he still remains the rank outsider to be given the boot.

After just being saved last week having finished in the bottom two, it is unsurprising that Amelia Lily is 2/1 to go next, which is the same price as another of Kelly Rowland’s girls Misha B.
