The Championships are set to have an international feel to them with over 30 nations taking part from countries as far a field as New Zealand, Brazil and Nigeria.The inaugural Karaoke World Championships were held in Finland back in 2003 with the aim of providing the world’s best Karaoke entertainment year after year with the World Champion title in a men and women’s series.Paddy Power have also opened a book on this years championships and have installed the USA as the early favourite in the women’s competition at 11/4 while Trevor Dunn from Canada is the favourite amongst the men at 3/1. Meanwhile Irish Laura May Lenehan and Carl Malone can be backed at 8/1 and 9/2 to win their respective titles.The Irish champions have been chosen but The Moncrieff Show on Newstalk will offer Irish Karaoke fans one last chance to enter the PaddyPower.com Karaoke World Championships as the Irish Wildcard entries. From Monday Moncrieff will invite Irish crooners to phone in and showcase their talents all week with the winning duo to be selected on Friday 2nd of September.Paddy Power told Bettingpro: “The 2011 PaddyPower.com Karaoke World Championships are set to be the biggest yet and we’re delighted to be on board. There’s nothing we love more in this country than a sing song and hopefully one of the Irish contestants can bring home the prize!”Tickets to see the PaddyPower.com Karaoke World Championships cost €20 per day or €50 for a three day pass and will be available from the INEC Box Office.
