U2 concert in Croker betting

Bookies Paddy Power are betting tickets for U2’s summer gig at Croker will sell out in record speed after front man Bono confirmed the band will play at the GAA headquarters on July 24th.

It’s odds-on at 1/3 with Paddy Power that tickets for U2’s first gig sell out in under an hour while it’s 12/1 that every last ticket will be sold in under just 10 minutes!

Those who plan on trekking to Croke Park to see Bono and co in action can avail of some interesting wagers with Paddy Power. Preacher Bono is tipped to talk about new US President Barack Obama at some stage throughout the concert at 6/4, and just 9/4 to mention the dreaded recession, while it’s 16/1 he declares his intention to run for President in Ireland. There are also wacko odds available at 100/1 that the band performs a Live duet with Michael Jackson on stage!

And if that wasn’t enough to get U2 fans juices flowing, Paddy Power have also opened a betting market on what song Bono and the boys will choose to kick-start their Dublin concert with. Get On Your Boots from the bands new album ‘No Line On The Horizon’ is the bookies favourite at 4/6, but with so many hits under their belts the Northsiders could surprise their home crowd with a golden oldie. Beautiful Day is 14/1 while their 2000 hit Elevation is 10/1.

Sharon McHugh, spokesperson for Paddy Power said: “U2 could open their concert with the birdie song and it wouldn’t matter one bit. The lads always give a fantastic show and they’re guaranteed to get a proper Irish reception!”

And just in case Bono decides to have a playful flutter with Paddy Power, the cheeky bookie is offering 500/1 odds on The Birdie Song being the opening number!
