Horses from Jonjo O’ Neil stables including Grand National winner Don't Push It and stablemate Can't Buy Time agreed to take part in a series of exclusive interviews captured on film so they could do their bit to get the champion jockey over the line.

Shot on location at Jackdaws Castle, the humorous clip features 12 thoroughbreds discussing the achievements of McCoy. AP and Jonjo make cameo appearances to lend their support.

McCoy said: “It's great that Ladbrokes and the racing industry have given me their backing. I am really appreciative of the support I am receiving from everyone in the horse world. I’m hoping to repay all the faith shown to me by horse racing fans and punters. The video is light-hearted and great fun. I’ve often said horses make more sense than people and I think it’ll give people a good laugh!"

David Williams of Ladbrokes explained to Racingbase "McCoy has cost us a fortune down the years but for once we’ll be cheering him on. He’s done more for racing than anyone and his achievements this year warrant recognition beyond racing. We’re having some fun with the video but we’re deadly serious about helping him land the Sports Personality Award."

The exclusive interviews are part of a wider cross-channel campaign by Ladbrokes to help AP McCoy win the BBC Sports Personality of the Year on Sunday 19th December. In addition to the video, Ladbrokes have launched their twitter feed, are distributing bespoke "I’m backing McCoy" red rosettes to racing fans and are encouraging celebrities to back the champion jockey. In-store videos of his greatest rides and promotional materials to celebrate “McCoy Week” in mid-December will all combine as the firm throw their full support behind the campaign for AP.
