The 2012 Golden Globes are handed out in January, with George Clooney and Meryl Streep set to claim the spoils
This year’s Golden Globe nominations threw up no surprises as nominations were handed out to The Artist, The Help and The Descendants.

Paddy Power wasted no time in pin pointing their favourites, making The Descendants, starring George Clooney, their 10/11 favourite to pick up the Golden Globe for Best Picture Drama with silent movie The Artist the 8/13 odds-on favourite to pick up the Globe for Best Picture Musical/Comedy.
Two-time Academy Award winner Meryl Streep, is the 4/6 favourite to win the Golden Globe for Best Actress in a Drama for her role as Maggie Thatcher in The Iron Lady while Michelle Williams is 4/11 to be rewarded for her portrayal of Marilyn Monroe in ‘My Week With Marilyn’.
Sharon McHugh, spokesperson for Paddy Power told Bettingpro: “There were no real surprises thrown up in today’s nominations. As expected Michel Hazanavicius’s The Artist, Alexander Payne’s The Descendants and Steven Spielberg’s War Horse all received a nod and it will be interesting to see how this year’s winners affect the Oscars odds overall.”
The Golden Globes will take place on 15 January 2012.
