Poor Oscar Betting reports Bookies
With the annual event that is the Oscars taking place this Sunday in Hollywood, Coral bookmakers are reporting that turnover has been particularly poor by comparison this year, mainly due to the number of certainties in the six categories that they offer betting on. And the little interest they have seen has been for the favourites only.
Gary Burton of Coral told us "The Hurt Locker has been well backed to turnover the original favourite, Avatar, for Best Picture, but apart from that, all the other awards had an odds-on favourite from the outset, and as we only accept single bets, the majority of punters aren't interested in placing bets for minimum return"
Coral have further trimmed the price of Jeff Bridges and Sandra Bullock for Best Actor and Actress today, Bridges is now 1-8, while Bullock is into 4-7, making it only 11-4 that all six favourites oblige on the night.
