The 2012 Oscars betting at Ladbrokes suggests that Octavia Spencer should start researching her Best Supporting Actress speech
Octavia Spencer has been slashed to 1/20 to pick up the best supporting actress Oscar according to
Ladbrokes.
The Help actress has seen her odds tumble to 1/20 (from 1/8) and her co-star Viola Davies has shortened to even money (from 3/1) following their triumph at the Screen Actors Guild awards last weekend. Meryl Streep edges favouritism for the best actress award, however she's drifted out to 10/11 (from 8/15).
After similar a success at the award ceremony, best supporting actor hopeful Christopher Plummer is now 1/20 (from 1/12) and George Clooney still leads the betting at 1/2 in the best actor category.
Jessica Bridge of Ladbrokes told Bettingpro: "Octavia and Viola certainly don't require any help with their odds. Punters have laid in to the actresses since The Help swept up at the SAG awards."
