Actor widely acclaimed for his lead role in The King’s Speech
As the awards season starts to get under way,
William Hill make Colin Firth their 1/4 favourite to win the Best Actor Oscar for The King's Speech and 1/5 to win the Best Actor Golden Globe. The King's Speech could well sweep the boards at both award ceremonies with Hills offering 6/1 that it wins Best Film, Best Actor & Best Supporting Actress at the Oscars this year.
"We have not seen such a buzz for a film or a performance since Helen Mirren's flawless performance as the Queen. Colin looks a certainty and we are just 6/1 that The King's Speech wins Best Film, Best Actor and Best Supporting Actress at the Oscars," Hill's spokesman Rupert Adams told Bettingpro.
