Bookies William Hill  have seen a late run of money for Atonement to win the Best Picture Oscar cutting it from 5/1 to 4/1 in the final few hours of betting. But the day looks certain to go to Daniel Day Lewis the 1/14 favourite to win Best Actor with bets of up to £14,000 placed on the star of the show.

"Atonement has a chance of upsetting the odds and winning best film and the odds suggest that Day Lewis will win the best actor at a canter," said Hill's spokesman Rupert Adams.
