Bookies William Hill have shortened the price of Daniel Day Lewis winning the Best Actor Oscar from 1/12 to 1/14 as punter lump on what looks like a certainty.

"Over 90% of bets placed on the market are for Daniel Day Lewis and we have nearly £100,000 riding on him to win. Infact if anyone else wins we will have our best ever result on the Oscar's," said Hill's spokesman Rupert Adams.

Elsewhere Mation Cotillard has been shortened to 7/4 from 9/4 following significant support to win the Best Actress award.
