After Ant and Dec took home a trio of National Television awards last year, bookmaker Sky Bet is tipping the dynamic duo to sweep the board again at this year’s ceremony and has even created a special market on how many gongs the lads will bag. It’s 6/4 that the Geordie double act win all three of the categories in which they are nominated.
Sky Bet, the first bookmaker to open up betting on the awards, has installed the Geordie duo as odds-on favourite at 1/3 to win Most Popular Entertainment Presenter category, and it is 6/4 that they take home the best Entertainment show category, which sees them nominated for both ‘Saturday Night Takeaway’ and ‘I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of here!’.
Britain’s Got Talent, hosted by the comedy pair, is 4/7 to win the Most Popular Talent Show category.
Helen Jacob, Sky Bet spokesperson said: “Ant and Dec have more National Television awards than they know what to do with but their popularity shows no sign of waning and we wouldn’t be surprised to see them sweep the board again this year.”
In the battle of the soaps, Michelle Keegan who plays Tina in Coronation Street is the 1/3 favourite to win the most popular newcomer category and EastEnders is 8/11 to win best serial drama.
