Miss Japan has been the big mover in the Miss World betting and has been cut to 33-1 (from 100-1) by Coral bookmakers.

The 21 year old, Eruza Sasaki, was backed at the big price with the Barking firm after winning the Miss World Sportsman competition this week to secure a final place. Miss Puerto Rico is the red hot 13-8 favourite with Coral, with Mexico next best at 4-1.

"Miss Japan was an unconsidered outsider until we started to see a few quid for her, and when we learned she had already earned her place in the final, we had to react" Coral spokesman Gary Burton told Bettingpro this morning.
