William Hill have slashed the odds that NASA will prove that there is currently life on Mars within the next five years to odds-on for the first time ever.

Hills are now offering odds of 4/6 that on or before January 1,2014 NASA will confirm the current existence of any kind of life native to the Planet Mars - and 11/10 that this will not happen.Previously Hills have only ever offered odds AGAINST proof of alien life being forthcoming.

'With all the current speculation about the evidence offered by the detection of methane gas emissions, we have taken a series of bets that the current existence of life on Mars will be confirmed by NASA within five years - previously we have offered odds of up to 100/1 about this happening.' said Hill's spokesman Graham Sharpe.

However, Hills remain sceptical that proof of the current existence of INTELLIGENT extra terrestrial life will be forthcoming any time soon - and currently offer 500/1 that the current UK Prime Minister or US President will officially confirm that to be the case before the end of 2009. 'There are many who believe that intelligent extra terrestrial life does exist but that the authorities will not admit to it' said Sharpe.

One William Hill client, Lawrence Tout of Wiltshire, will collect £1million if UFOs are proved to visit earth between now and October 31, 2009. He has staked £1000 at odds of 1000/1 about this happening.
