Swedish written song Drip Drop should be big hit in Oslo

Azerbaijan entry Safura Alizadeh has been installed as the early favourite to win Eurovision 2010 later this month with impressive power-ballad Drip Drop.

The song, which to my untrained ear is reminiscent of the old Roxette classics, would be a topical winner in Sweden as it is co-written by Anders Bagge, who has worked with such superstars as Celine Dion, Madonna and Jennifer Lopez.

Bagge should also be familiar with that it takes to prevail in such a competition, having been a judge on the Swedish Idol series.

Stunning 17-year-old Safura has certainly done the song proud and no expense was spared on the accompanying video as top choreographer JaQuel Knight, who has helped Beyonce and Britney Spears shine, was brought in.

An intensive promotional tour that has taken place  in Germany, Holland, Belgium, Switzerland, Poland and Russia should help recruit plenty of support and Safura has been a superb ambassador.

“I am very pleased with how it started," she told eurovisionfamily.tv. "And I am happy that people are genuinely interested in my song Drip Drop, in my new video, in what I have to say.
"This is an incredible feeling when you see that people around you appreciate what you do.
My only regret is that we go to such beautiful cities and I really have no time to see them. So I am definitely coming back later on a more relaxed schedule."

The Azerbaijan bid is a top-priced 3/1 with William Hill to prevail in Oslo on May 29, but must first come through the second semi-final two days earlier, which Safura is 9/4 to win.
