Azerbaijan entry is the hot favourite to be the winner in Oslo

Betfred report a substantial plunge on Azerbaijan entry Safura Alizadeh to win the Eurovision Song Contest 2010 in Norway on May 29.

The stunning 17-year-old was installed as favourite to prevail after impressing with her power ballad Drip Drop and punters have certainly latched on to her as the competition looms nearer.

"Having laid Safura at as big as 4/1, we have now been forced to slash her odds to just 5/4 and she is a hefty loser for us at this stage," said Betfred spokesman Jon Wilde.

"It hasn't been a case of one or two big bets, but rather a continuous stream of support for the Azerbaijan starlet and punters clearly sense she's the one to be on."

Safura has certainly done the song proud and no expense was spared on the accompanying video as top choreographer JaQuel Knight, who has helped Beyonce and Britney Spears shine, was brought in.

An intensive promotional tour taking in Germany, Holland, Belgium, Switzerland, Poland and Russia should help recruit plenty of support and Safura has been a superb ambassador.

“I am very pleased with how it started," she told eurovisionfamily.tv. "And I am happy that people are genuinely interested in my song Drip Drop, in my new video, in what I have to say.

"This is an incredible feeling when you see that people around you appreciate what you do. My only regret is that we go to such beautiful cities and I really have no time to see them. So I am definitely coming back later on a more relaxed schedule."

Betfred have also seen solid money for Ireland at good odds, whilst that entry, Slovakia and Belgium have been backed to make the top 10 in Oslo.
