Cyclist 80/1 after World Championship gold in Denmark

Scottish cyclist Chris Hoy has been cut from 150/1 to 80/1 with Coral to win the BBC Sports Personality of the Year 2010 award, following his gold medal at this week’s cycling world championships in Denmark.

Hoy’s gold in the Kirin event in Copenhagen was his tenth world championship title of his career, and with the Commonwealth games taking place this year, the Scot could be on course to win his second Sports Personality title in three years.

Coral spokesman Gary Burton told Bettingpro:

"Although it's a long way short of his 2008 Olympic achievement, Hoy is still a big favourite with the British public, and if he can add further medals at the Commonwealth Games later in the year, he could once again be on the short list,"

Another Scot, Andy Murray is Coral’s 5/2 favourite for the award, with Wayne Rooney, who is having a phenomenal season 4/1, and Lewis Hamilton 9/1.
