Singer’s marital problems haven’t affected her popularity with readers

Cheryl Cole has been in the public eye recently, due to the reported break-up of her marriage to footballer husband Ashley, but that hasn’t affected her popularity in this year’s FHM Sexiest Woman of the Year betting, with the Girls Aloud singer hot 4/11 favourite to retain her title at PaddyPower.

Cheryl’s competition will come from Tranformers star Megan Fox, who was runner-up last year, and can be backed at 9/4 this time around.

It’s something of a surprise to see Tess Daly, another celebrity whose marital problems have been making headlines, as 8/1 third favourite, and with Tiger Woods’ wife Elin Nordegren available at 14/1, it seems that being in the tabloids, for whatever reason, is a good route to maintaining popularity.

Frankie Sandford, who has been tipped as good outside chance on these pages before, can be backed at 12/1, which still looks good, although it will be tough for anyone to overthrow Cheryl Cole.

Rear of the Year favourite Holly Willoughby is a 33/1 outsider, whilst Russell Brand’s fiancée Katy Perry is available at 50/1.
