The Aslef strike on Boxing Day is available at odds of 1/2 with Ladbrokes, with 6/4 available that a strike is avoided

Aslef's planned industrial action for Boxing Day is odds-on to go ahead according to Ladbrokes.

The bookies offer odds of just 1/2 that the proposed festive strike is carried out and quote 6/4 that action can be averted. It's even money that members of the RMT union also participate and 5/1 that all four planned days of action spanning into the New Year are completed.

Additional services on New Year's Eve are 25/1 to be affected.

Alex Donohue of Ladbrokes told Bettingpro: "The odds look stacked against a trip to the sales by tube. We can't rule out the prospect of other unions lending their support either."

He added: "Anyone worried about having to pay for a cab on New Year's Eve should have a bet to cover themselves should action continue."
