Nathan has been heavily backed in the Big Brother 2010 next eviction betting after being put up before the public vote by Save & Replace task winner Caoimhe.

The Irish girl originally received the most nominations alongside John James but earned a reprieve after emerging successful from the 'Stay On TV' challenge.

Aussie hunk John James later revealed he deliberately threw the contest in order to help Caoimhe stay in the house and looks sure to earn the public's respect for that selfless act.

"How could I live here and know I was the reason she went home, because she would have had no chance against whoever she went up against," said John James on channel4.com/bigbrother.

"It's one thing to nominate someone and another thing to send them to the wolves - and I'm happy to go up there instead.

"She's just come out on her own, Shabby's just left and she's got a chance to rectify herself and become who she is as a person.

"I think that she's starting to do that so it's one thing to nominate, but it would have been purely my fault to send her out there and how could I have dealt with that?"

Coral bookmakers were knocked over in the rush to back mouthy Yorkshireman Nathan to lose out to the Aussie and were forced to cut their original price of 1/3 into 2/9, while John James is 3/1 to be sent packing this week.

"We thought it might be close, but our 1/3 only lasted about five minutes and after taking more at 2/7 it looks like the Aussie support is a lot stronger," said spokesman Gary Burton.
