Graeme Swann's odds have been slashed by Ladbrokes for this year’s Sports Personality Of The Year award following his performance in the opening Ashes Tests.

The popular England spinner was available at 66/1 before the Ashes but a polished bowling performance has seen him backed into 10/1 as the joint-third favourite with Lee Westwood.

AP McCoy remains the odds-on favourite at 5/6.

He rode at Cheltenham on Saturday where he registered a winner, with the feature race on the card titled the ‘Vote AP Gold Cup’.

Ladbrokes remain strong supporters of the champion jockey and Grand National winner despite a victory for him presenting the firm with a huge payout.

Alex Donohue of Ladbrokes told Bettingpro:

"Swann’s bowling must be winning voters over. He’d have to do something pretty special in the third test though to overtake long-standing favourite and worthy winner AP."
