Liam Neeson tipped to make A-plan come together

Irish actor Liam Neeson is being tipped to land the role of ‘Hannibal’ Smith in the film version of TV classic ‘The A-Team’. Bookies Paddy Power have installed the Ballymena man at odds of 4/7 in front of fellow Hollywood A-listers Bruce Willis at 9/4, George Clooney at 9/2 and Mel Gibson at 10/1.

Filming is due to begin this August in time for a June 2010 release and casting directors aren’t just looking for a new Hannibal. Movie chiefs will also be scouting to fill the other remaining roles of “Howling Mad” Murdock, “BA” Baracus and Face, aka Templeton Peck. 

Paddy Power are tipping handsome Hangover star Bradley Cooper at 4/6 to fill the role originally played by Dirk Benedict, followed by Brad Pitt at 3/1 and Leonardo DiCaprio at 4/1.

Woody Harrelson at 7/4, Ewan McGregor at 6/1 and our very own Colin Farrell at 10/1 all make the list of possible Murdocks, while rap star Common is the bookies hot favourite at 11/10 to play tough man BA Baracus. UFC’s Quinton Jackson, who bares a striking resemblance to original actor Mr T, is 7/4 on Paddy Power’s list. Tropic Thunder star Robert Downey Junior is an outsider at 33/1.
