Tinie Tempah is 5/1 to win the 2011 Mercury Music Prize after scooping Best Newcomer and Best Song at the Brit Awards

Tinie Tempah is the 5/1 favourite with Ladbrokes for the Mercury Music Prize.

Following his BRIT awards success the bookies have introduced him at the head of their betting for the prize from fellow London based rapper Devlin, who earns a 12-1 quote. Newcomer Jessie J is a 14/1 shot to win with her album 'Who are you'.

The Streets' last studio album 'Computers and Blues' is a 20/1 chance with Carl Barat's self titled album also 20/1. The market remains particularly close with no album longer than 25/1 despite being several months away from the shortlist announcement.

Alex Donohue of Ladbrokes told Bettingpro: "We've installed Tinie Tempah as our early favourite on the back of his impressive haul at the BRITS. The close nature of the market means we're unable to rule anyone out even with the shortlist being several months away."
