William Hill report five-figure liabilities on the French entry, which has been cut to 4/1

We’re a few weeks away from the Eurovision Song Contest although there has been a big plunge on France to win the competition, with the entry going from 66/1 to 5/1 in the space of 24 hours.

Amaury Vassili’s song ‘Sognu’ is a classical number which could go down a storm across Europe and William Hill now make France the 5/1 second favourites behind 4/1 Norway.

"The gamble on France suggests that a classical track may well be able to transcend the traditional politicking that often blights Eurovision voting," Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly told Bettingpro.
