The highlight of tonight's Sky Sports greyhounds card at Newcastle is the All England Cup Final. That race is just one of four taking place on Wednesday evening.
All England Cup Final 21:45
T1 Mill Bling Bling
Impressive all the way win in semi-final after disappointing in heats when maybe distracted. Unsure if trap one is ideal, but may prove to be speed of the speed. Unbeaten win in Steel City Cup in August. Still improving; strong chance.
T2 Tudor Prince
Performed heroics to win semi-final and fact he doesn't have to lead to win could be vital here, but very fast on bunny as he proved in heats. 5/5 record in trap 2 a plus especially as other principals not ideally drawn. Price makes him the pick.
T3 Longwood Fantasy
Game effort in semi-final defeat to Blue Artisian and can reverse form with draws swapped round. Runner-up to Taylors Sky in Monmore Gold Cup. One win in 9 worrying, but big odds offer value play.
T4 Blue Artisan
Fastest times in both heats and semi-final and probably in career best form, but will need luck from a tricky berth as he seeks the rails. Overall career form strongest in race, but price unattractive from this box.
T5 Bubbly Olly
100/1 ante post ran encouragingly in semi-final, but hard to see him being quick enough in red hot final. Stamina could take him past a few late on.
T6 Yahoo Jamie
Beaten favourite in 2010 final when knocked over, has not reproduced those efforts so far, but well drawn outside the speed and no shock if he improves for Charlie Lister. Proven competition runner but still to win a major prize.
Summary:
Blue Artisan's tricky draw in trap four throws up no end of possible outcomes, and while he can't be completely dismissed there is little value to be had supporting him. If taking to trap one Mill Bling Bling could potentially dominate, but at twice the price Tudor Prince, who doesn't need to lead as he proved in the semis, makes more appeal from his favourite box. Longwood Fantasy is over-priced, while Yahoo Jamie should get a clear run and offers a big price for Lister fans.
Northern Puppy Derby 21:25
T1 Kinda True
Maiden still learning the ropes and despite strong connections looks up against it,
T2 Longwood Hawk
Debuted in heats and strong run in semis rates him a big player here, but will have to do it the hard way.
T3 Coin Case
Confidence booster in weakest semi-final, but plenty to find on the clock.
T4 Unreal Timmy
One to beat after impressive semi-final win and excellent 3/5 record over CD. Fast enough to overcome middle draw. Needs to avoid trap five cutting across at traps.
T5 Killieford Blaze
Improved form in this competition, but badly drawn as all wins have come from trap two. Needs a flyer.
T6 Sevenup Bradders
Excellent draw and offers value alternative after solid semi-final win. Still improving after recent layoff.
Summary
Unreal Timmy looks the one to beat, although he will need to avoid rails seeking Killieford Blaze on the run up. Sevenup Bradders will appeal to value seekers from a perfect draw.
Other races.......
19:40 Standard
Improving Brave Display the one to beat after Wimbledon win last week but she hasn't been round the track and Pats Legacy can prove a solid alternative after reaching All England semis. Elwick Archer has not been trapping and prefers a wide draw.
20:00 Stayers
2010 Great North Run winner Anfi Gem can topple Blonde Fletch from his favourite trap one berth and further boost his 3/7 CD record. Dual Category One winner 'Fletch' has won 19 races this year and warrants huge respect.
20:15 Marathon
Buglys Billie revived memories of Scurlogue Champ at Wimbledon last week, but will find Leger runner-up Capoley Ash too fast provided the latter stays.
20:35 Sprint
Lily Mayday is worth chancing to beat Jimmy Lollie (3 defeats in 4) and Lil Risky after an excellent trial following his near TR win at Sheffield.
20:50 Angel of the North Oaks final
Irish Oaks finalist Mutual Decision can get first run to topple strong running course specialist Pond Shefelia in a superb showdown after an excellent heat win, but don't expect it to be easy with 'Shefelia' in career best form
21:10 Great North Run final
Grand Prix third Nyla Fantasy can grab a vital early lead on recently returned Lonely Boy, who looked an excellent six bend prospect prior to his absence and rates the obvious threat. 2010 third Droopys Arshavin is not completely out of it from a favoured trap one berth.
Selections:
Capoley Ash 20:15
Mutual Decision 20:50
Nyla Fantasy 21:10
Tudor Prince 21:45
Unreal Timmy 21:25
