There is a star-studded card at Wimbledon this evening, which is live on Sky Sports, when some of the fastest greyhounds in the UK will be on show and as usual, there will be plenty of Irish interest on the card too!

The big race of the evening will undoubtedly be the Racing Post Juvenile Classic (9.45pm), which is likely to have a good deal of bearing on the English Greyhound Derby betting. Fear Zafonic is likely to go off a hot-favourite here. The well-bred son of Premier Fantasy and Farloe Oyster has been flying in recent trials in preparation for this and it's expected that he'll take plenty of beating from the ideal starting berth of Trap 1. Currently second favourite in the betting at 16/1 for the English Greyhound Derby, Charlie Lister's flying black could be the new ante-post favourite come 9.50pm tonight.

Fear Zafonic is going to need to be at his best, if he is to make a winning return as it's an excellent line up in opposition. There is the Pat Buckley-trained Droopys Noel (T3), who landed last year's Puppy Derby, the well-regarded Boherna Best (T6) and also Deanridge Fury, who has also been clocking some fast times in trials recently and he is already been talked up for the English Greyhound Derby. He could very well pose the biggest threat to Fear Zafonic.

The other race at Wimbledon later tonight which is likely to have some effect on the English Greyhound Derby betting is the Emily Wood Memorial Invitation (9.10pm), where the highly popular College Causeway makes his return to racing action.

A winner of last year's Ladbrokes 600, Pat Buckley's charge was found to be injured when knocked out at the quarter-final stage in last year's Irish Greyhound Derby. He has impressed in his two trials over 460m around Wimbledon in recent weeks and will be fancied to go close.

However, the fact that it is College Causeway's first race in England, should be of some concern to potential backers and he may need a couple of races to adapt to the English race running style. As fast as a tracker as he is, he may be vulnerable in this first race at Wimbledon and preference goes to Ninja Jamie, who will be fighting fit for this test after two recent wins around Sheffield.

The Sky coverage at Wimbledon starts with a competitive 460m race, where the former Irish tracker Cabra Fly (T1) should oblige, while recent form should see Jesters Nap be able for the test of Toosey Blue (T6) and company in the 8.00pm. Hawks Dilemma (T1) looks the pick in the stayers' race at 8.35pm while Irish greyhound enthusiasts should have plenty of insight into the 460m contest which follows as Full Bloom (T1), Cabra Boss (T2), Ardkill Tunoco (T3) and Ballymac Ruso (T4) have all raced on these shores at some stage in their career. Ballymac Ruso looks the most likely winner here.

Best Bet: Trap 4 Ballymac Ruso (8.50pm)
Next Best: Trap 2 Ninja Jamie (9.10pm)
