Greyhound Grand National

James Smith - 29 Mar 2009

Sponsors Stan James make Platinumlancelot, Hotdog Jack and Nebucahadnezzar the 9/2 co-favourites for greyhound racing's Grand National following last night's heats.
Most of the big title hopefuls progressed to the semi-finals, although the Stan James Springbok winner Bomber Bailey and Winkys Don were significant eliminations.

Stan James' Charlie McCann said: "With four winning favourites from six heats many of the fancied dogs qualified with ease but uneasy ante-post favourite Nebuchadnezzar only just squeezed through in the toughest heat of the night and will need to improve on Friday night if he is to make the final on April 7.

"He is drawn (2) next to another co-favourite Hotdog Jack (1) in the last semi-final on Friday evening and the latter looks well-drawn to follow up last night's success."
