Resurgent Welshman Richie Burnett takes on three-time world champion John Part in a mouthwatering World Championship second round clash on Tuesday afternoon.

Burnett produced a sensational performance to knock out fellow countryman Mark Webster on opening night and will be hoping to continue his revival by seeing off Canadian legend Part.

Part defeated John Henderson 3-0 in round one, but will need to up his game against his gritty opponent.

Burnett, who won the BDO world title in 1995, has been tipped to provide each way value at 100/1 for the title with Ladbrokes and will be hoping to go one step further than his Semi-Final run at the World Grand Prix in October.

Both players are heavy scorers and look evenly matched on paper. Part has a 100 per cent record over Burnett in their seven previous meeting, but the bookmakers favour Burnett, making him the 8/11 favourite to go through.

Darth Maple is the 11/10 underdog with title sponsors Ladbrokes; his experience on the Ally Pally stage could prove vital against the self-critical thrower from the valleys.

The pair last met in a Players Championship event in June, in a game which saw Part prevail 6-2.

The match gets underway at 2.30pm on Tuesday and will be streamed live over the best of seven sets from the Alexandra Palace, London.
