Two titans of the darting world will go head-to-head once again as Phil Taylor takes on Raymond van Barneveld in the Premier League in Belfast on Thursday.

The duo are widely regarded as the game's greatest players and have dominated the sport over the past two decades.

Their latest encounter comes at a time when both have seemingly recaptured their most prolific form after a spell of uncertainty.

Taylor laid down a marker by hitting a nine darter during his 8-5 win over Kevin Painter last week, following up from a 112 average in week one.

Barney has returned to his old setup and has demonstrated a new-found mental strength and exterior snarl that have guided him to two hard-fought draws so far.

Despite winning the last two meetings between the two during Pro Tour events in Benidorm, crowd favourite Barneveld has a poor record against the 15-time world champion.

Incredibly, he has never beaten The Power in this event, losing 12 times and managing just one draw. The duo have met a staggering 51 times in total, with Taylor winning 40 of those meetings.

The match will round off the night in front of a packed crowd in Belfast and promises to be another thriller if both bring their trademark all-round games to the stage.
