Three-time world champion John Part takes on Highlander John Henderson in a tasty first round clash at Alexandra Palace this evening.

Canadian ace Part has recaptured his top form on the Pro Tour this year and will be looking to banish the memory of his first round exit at the worlds last year with a win tonight.

His opponent is PDC newcomer John Henderson, who is making his debut in the prestigious event.

Henderson has taken the PDC tour by storm after earning a tour card at Q school in January. His has climbed to 44th in the PDC order of merit after runs at the World Matchplay and World Grand Prix.

Despite his rocky throwing action, he is renowned as one of the most dangerous 180 scorers and will give Part a tough test this evening.

Part picked up the title during the first event at Ally Pally in 2008 and is favourite with the bookmakers to see off Henderson tonight despite his poor record in this event in recent years.

He is priced at 4/7 with title sponsors Ladbrokes, as opposed to Henderson who may offer value at 11/8.

Their only previous meeting came in a Players Championship event in May, in a game which saw Henderson prevail 6-3.

The match gets underway at 9pm and will be streamed live over the best of five sets from the Alexandra Palace, London.
